One long ago summer day, I met a giraffe.
We were the same color.

I swear she had a twinkle in those big, soft, mischievous brown eyes that said "I could snatch you bald if I really wanted to do it."
Hi Cecilia couldn't hide hers, but let's face it; there are times it's important to try to keep those thoughts to ourselves. Honest? It's part of the reason my sunglasses are omnipresent, ready to hide me if a stranger glimpses my eye-rolling annoyance with them. It's ok to roll them at family, but strangers don't always take it well.
I try to be a nice person, in my thoughts as well as my actions, but sometimes I REALLY just want to reach out & tweak a stranger's nose, or yank their hair. A playful, very naughty little voice says "go ahead, just do it"... go away, little voice!
Funny, the things you think about while peering into old photos.
(Curiously, I can't find Hi Cecile, Hi Cecilia & their offspring mentioned on The Houston Zoo website as of this writing. The "Hi C" family, by the way, was sponsored by Minute Maid.)
(Another interesting aside; the term "snatch you bald" most likely originated as a reference to pitchcapping... yikes!)
Does your naughty little voice try to get you into trouble too?
Do you, just for a moment, smile to yourself about what it suggests, even though you'd never, ever do such a thing?

10 little pearls:
I think some terrible things too sometimes. I think everyone does.
...NEVER...always...No NEVER...yes always... ok... sometimes...OK!
Oh, that nasty little fella that sits on my shoulder and eggs me to do something bad? Yep...he tries so hard to put words in my mouth all the time. It's all I can do to give him a fling with my fingers...and I generally end up laughing at the thought!
Tweak a stranger's nose? Yank their hair? What a visual that is...a total crack-up! I'm seeing it from the stranger's viewpoint...someone I don't know tweaking my nose. That's when my imagination starts to run wild...
what a wonderful picture. i have an ongoing monologue to be nice and patient because sometimes it is soo hard! especially at work. :>)
Yep, thoughts do pop up that I'd better never act upon!
Julia-I call those the moments when my brain is saying one thing, and my mouth is saying another. I'm always afraid I will mix it up and say what I'm actually thinking. Loved the old photo.

When I hit fifty (two years ago), I just let it rip. Which means all those naughty little things I just thought, got formed into words. Gets me into trouble for sure. But oh my, it's so much fun to raise eyebrows! I think it's the reward you should have for being menopausal and a half century old.

Oh yes there are many times when I would like to tweak someone's nose.
But when driving there are some people who make me want to do more than tweak their nose!!
Unfortunately, my inner voice makes it out from time to time. I've been known to tweak a few noses as well. Is probably my biggest fault.
