... let's go wade at the edge of the world
... I'll stop for munchies
... you bring dessert
... be adventurous, if you want
... or not, it's fine with me
... let's tell the sun he doesn't matter... not today
... we can play games, or have a parade
... we'll be nice to strangers
... we'll avoid unpleasantness
... let it pass us by
... no one can ruffle our feathers unless we let them
... we'll simply turn our backs on trouble
... and appreciate each others' company
... you can have alone time if you need it
... sit in the sand... or float just above it
... we'll enjoy the warm salt on our wet, wet toes
... today let's be glad... just to be
... you, to be you... and me, to be me

Beautiful post. Once my move is complete, I'll be only three hours from the beach. I know that isn't "living by the sea" but it is hours and hours closer than I am now. I can hardly wait. ♥

Thanks for visit my blog, I am your newest follower.
Greetings from Europe, Biljana
I looked at these pictures the other day and thought I had left a comment but I guess I didn't hit publish after I wrote it. I also became a follower. Anyway, these pictures are stunning! You really captured the essence of their time in the water on a cloudy afternoon.
I love days like that, don't you?
That reminds me, I need to go and visit my ocean again. Maybe it's not too crowded with this cooler temps.

Bravo Julia - I love this post. Sorry I was so late in reading it and posting a comment.
Okay, I'm playing catchup on my favorite blogs. I've been distracted of late with more to come.
Anyway, it's funny that I'm reading this right now. I was visiting Becky at Abbeystyle and she posed the question - What kind of animal would you be.
I chose a Blue Heron, so I could do two of my favorite things — walk the shore and eat fish! Thanks for sharing pics of my feathered friends!
I just found your blog. What wonderful pictures of the shore birds.
