The road we never take

how many times do we not see...

the truth
that lies

behind
the trees...

simply because

we didn't

look?

we sometimes
neglect
the

little road...

where
there might be
a paradise

for creatures who
wisely hide

a place for them to tiptoe
in the
cool
dampness
after daylight
fades...

a place
where summer hangs on
for dear life,
& cicadas sing,
despite the cool evenings...

perhaps a secret blue bayou... that empties into the bay
(just a stones' throw from this gentle spot)

then on to the ocean...

where droplets
bump,
and
bid adieu

and wash away
to
wherever
the waves
hurry them

our world

is
so very

green

our world

is so very

blue

we sometimes
think
we've seen it all...

that we know
each twist

each turn

sometimes not realizing there is wildness... (or paradise)... mere feet away

so close to where we oft propel ourselves,
but... for some strange, unexplained call...

never... ~drift ~

I am all about traveling the road never taken...to see those small, simple treasures that others miss by being in a hurry or staying on a schedule.

These glimpses of your road are breathtakingly beautiful. I feel like I am right there.

Gorgeous post!

and thank you so much for your faithful visits...you continue to bless me with such kind words even though I am unable to get over here so often.

And thoughtful prose so true.. although i think i often look for the hidden in my walks.. but.. perhaps not in life...Thank you for sharing these lovelies and reminding us to look out for opportunities on 'the road less travelled'...

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.. xxx Julie

Another beautiful post! I love taking those little unexpected roads, so many times they have brought me to a place untouched and pure and simple. I wish we all had time to take those roads more often!

Hi Julia,
Another beautiful post...so thoughtful...gorgeous photos.

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

This is so true...
Enjoy the adventure!

This is such a beautiful post. Beautiful prose and beautiful photos. It's often the roads we hesitate to take that lead us to something magical. Your road beckons us to follow our instincts.
