Every month, a reminder

when we get to a certain age, time becomes a blur
so much of life can seem ephemeral... fleeting

I've thanked you before,
may I say it again?
thank you, universe, for giving us the moon
a big, bright reminder that some things, like true love, are everlasting

that some things are always there, even when we do not see
or are in such a state that we forget, or feel too overwhelmed, to look
up

first attempt at the full moon with my new Canon bridge camera
a very windy night, used the wrong tripod for its' big zoom lens
all I did was tweak the contrast & sharpen a bit
for the container ship bound for open ocean... I left the lens open a bit more
I shouldn't have been out in the cold so soon... but simply had to

Julia,
Yes, I see you and Julie really appreciate the moon--as I do. I love her To the Moon Alice posts, don't you?

Julia,

These are wonderful and I understand too! I took a few shots last night and knew I needed a tri-pod...finding it was another matter :) You are right...Julie would understand..next moon, I will be more organised!

Thanks for stopping by :)

These came out great! I was just telling my daughter last night that one of these days I want a camera I can properly shoot the moon with, but for now I'm content with my little moons, lol.

The container ship is awesome, I love doing just what you did, but the straight lines from the ship are a great example. I did some rides at an amusement park one time using this method and they came out so cool.

This month I wasn't happy with my full moon shots at all, but then the next morning I caught it as it was setting in the west. I never thought to do that before.

Have a great weekend!

Fabulous Julia!!!

I need a tripod!!!!... it was so windy here also and most of my pics were trashed... I used my car as a tripod.. haha.. ok when you have the right viewing angle.. haven't brought myself to drive the car down on the sand yet.. hahaha

I love the movement lines.. fantastic.. so sharp!!! mine are always fuzzy... like me!!

Here's to another full moon season.. I see all the moon lovers are here to enjoy your fabulous photos and always wonderful prose.. ciao xxx Julie

aahhhhh.....fun times with a new camera and a full moon. life is good. we have more snow now and hubby built a big camp fire last night, which warmed up our view of the moon.

Ah Julia! I can't blame you for getting out there in the cold. I'm taking a class to figure out my Nikon and loving it! Perhaps I'll join in the fun that you and Julie are having shooting for the moon! xo

Julia, those images are so beautiful! I did not get to see the beautiful full moon this month so thank you for showing me and reminding me how fast life does go and to learn to look towards the constant things in our lives.

I love Julies images and post as well!

Hello Julia- how beautiful are these photos. Actually they are stunning! You are getting really good with that camera.
A beautiful full moons so very romantic- especially when it glows over the water. When my husband was far away- on another continent- I used to look at the moon and say to myself that we both shared the same moon- the same view- on the same night- somehow it helped~~
hugs,
Vicki
