Blue lilies

sometimes
the luckiest flower,
isn't a flower
at all

& sometimes
the garden it grows in
isn't encased
in a wall
you nourish
you cipher
you labor

you bend
& you stretch
& you toil

you reach
for my hand
to dance me

in the sand
& the mud
of our soil

sometimes
when I see my reflection

I wonder,
how can you ignore?

but always...
forever & always

you're my constant,
my light
at the shore

you
are my
watery gardener

who
carries me
down to the sea

you
plant the seeds
for blue lilies

& then
you set blue lilies
free

your devotion
sustains
my joyful heart

keeps hope
in my
field of view

if you had to stop tending
the weeds
of my life,

I'd find a way,
somehow,
my darling...

to tend
our blue lilies
& you

The beautiful Little Blue Heron reaches 2 feet tall, weighs less than 1 pound, & lays light blue eggs.

Such a sweet love song. Elizabeth Barrett Browning couldn't have said it more beautifully. <3

You have definitely captured the blue heron's movements...her great patience and determination! And your verse is lovely...

So beautiful my friend to have such love and devotion for something, for someone. The blue heron is such a graceful and beautiful bird and I hope that you were able to get out last weekend and enjoy the days, hopefully in warmer weather!

Hugs!

What a lovely sentiment to go with such lovely photos of a little Blue Heron. I could just watch our birds all day and you always capture them so lovingly and beautifully.

Hugs my sweet friend

Hey, you are a very talented writer. I like surfing through blogs and discovering people with such an imagination. I have to tell you that the "duck" in the pictures really reminds me of one I saw in Argentina once. When I decided to rent apartments in buenos aires I wanted it to be in front of the lakes, and everyday I saw the ducks from my window!
